我國舉重女將林子琦在63公斤級賽事前夕因藥檢異常無法參賽，所保持的世界紀錄，也被中國選手鄧薇打破。鄧薇以平奧運紀錄抓舉115公斤、破世界紀錄挺舉147公斤，總和262公斤破世界紀錄的成績奪得金牌。對於林子琦來說，奪牌夢碎，世界記錄也沒了真是虧大了。
林子琦驚傳藥檢異常，中華代表團本部基於世界反禁藥組織（WADA）規定，採取最高標準處理「暫時性停賽」。消息傳回國內後，林子琦的父母驚訝又難過。根據了解，舉重隊教練蔡溫義在得知子弟兵無法出賽時，久久說不出話來。
本為被視為奪金熱門的林子琦，不但連和勁敵鄧薇對決的機會都沒有，所保有的兩項世界紀錄也被打破，如果最終確認屬違規用藥屬實，最重可能面臨禁賽4年。中華代表團總領隊陳士魁表示，會勇敢面對接下來的問題。
